A lot of newbies to the world of training masks go too hard, too soon, and end up passing out. You should start on the easiest setting and work your way up. It also comes with a carrying case and 5 adjustable valves. This might not make much sense when you get it, but it’s all explained in the instruction manual.

The Sparthos Workout Mask is a true contender for the best training mask on the market. It costs around the same as the TrainingMask 2.0, but some people prefer this product for its anatomical fit. Underneath the hood, they basically do the same thing (more on that in a minute), but the Sparthos Mask has been carefully designed to fit the contours of your face, which makes it altogether more comfortable. It has a large plastic area that covers your nose and mouth perfectly and contains multiple flux valves to control your breathing. All of this is held in place by a neoprene strap that comes in 3 different colors – black, camo, and red camo. This is the best looking mask on the market.

One thing that slightly lets this elevation training mask down, when compared to similar masks, is that it only has 16 levels of adjustability. Most of the other masks available have over 20, so it’s not quite as adjustable. However, it still gives you enough room to change the intensity as you train. You can adjust the valves by playing with the two dials on either side of the breathing hole.

The FIT GAME Workout Mask is another training mask that utilizes the same technology as the Training Mask 2.0. It’s slightly cheaper, but that’s probably because it’s not as well known and doesn’t have as many positive reviews to back up its claims. Having said that, we think it’s definitely worth considering if you’re looking for a budget training mask.

It has an impressive 24 levels of breathability. This allows you to start on a level that only slightly restricts oxygen intake and work up to the most intense level. It’s always important to increase the level slowly and not start out on the hardest settings, or you could cause yourself serious injury. This is the same for any workout equipment really – work your way up.

Next up, we have the TEC Training Mask. This product boasts a neoprene sleeve that you can get in 3 different colors – black camo, green camo, and midnight black. We love this feature because it allows you to customize the mask and find one that suits your style. The main plastic mouth and nose cover is black and designed to fit the natural anatomy of your face. It’s not quite as comfortable as the Sparthos Workout Mask, but it’s still pretty comfortable for anyone sized between 120lbs and 230lbs. And, it has non-slip straps that keep the mask in place at the back of your head.

Like the Sparthos Workout Mask however, it has 16 different breathing levels to choose from. They say that this mimics various altitudes up to 18,000 feet, but we know that’s not really the case. It might just feel like that’s what it’s doing. We really like the box and carry case that this workout mask comes with – it really feels like a premium product when it arrives in the mail. This isn’t the best training mask on this list, but it’s sold at a reasonable price. And, it will do all of the things that you’d expect a training mask to do – it will make your cardio workouts more intense, it will increase your lung capacity, and it will scare young children as you run past them.
