Today is arguably the best day in a long time to be a Microsoft fan. The company nearly crashed and burned (in terms of consumer mindshare) after the spectacular failure of Windows 8 and the lack of a solid mobile product over the last couple of years but now with the Windows 10 release, the Redmond-based behemoth is rising out of near-ashes like some kind of mythical techno-phoenix.
So now that Windows 10 is publicly available, the question remains: what Windows 10 laptop should consumers buy? Well, for most people’s needs we recommend the new Lenovo ThinkPad X250 laptop. Sure, it’s design is markedly utilitarian but with its extended six-cell battery attachment this bad boy can get up to 20 hours of battery life and honestly isn’t battery life all that really matters nowadays?
Other specs include a 12.5” 720p HD display, 4GB of blazing fast 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, a 500GB HD which spins at 7200rpm, and an Intel Core i3 processor. These specs may not justify the $836 price tag in your eyes but when you factor in the device’s durability (It passes 11 Military Spec Tests!), then you quickly realize that it’s more than a worthwhile investment. After all, what good is a powerful computer that can’t even survive a modest drop on the floor?
