Physical keyboards are dead. Or dying at least. The iPhone proved that much. Problem is, we’re still not at the point where we feel comfortable using personal assistants to interact with software. That’s where Welle comes in. This new Kickstarter project is uses sonar — yes the very same technology that submarines use in order to navigate under the ocean depths — in order to make any surface interactive. What that means is that your desk, airplane tray, or whatever else you can place your hands on, can be used to instantly control any device anywhere with custom-defined gestures.
Although gestures will; be the main way to interact with Welle, that’s not the only way you’ll be able to interact with your device. Welle also uses handwriting recognition in order to allow you to send messages, reply to email, or write the next great American novel. Find out more below.x5
