LG has been announcing smart watches recently like its nobody’s business. Today’s announcement, the LG Watch Urbane, is an Android Wear smartwatch which features a luxurious metal body and a 1.3 inch circular display. The new device is available in both gold and silver finishes (we have a slight preference for the silver here) and comes with a 22mm natural leather strap. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor which is powerful enough that navigating through the UI is smooth like butter. Unlike previous LG smart watches, the Urbane also features a heart rate sensor in addition to the sort of tracking/notification functionality you’d expect form a fully-featured Android Wear smartwatch.
This may be the classiest smartwatch we’ve seen to date here at inStash, and LG themselves seem to have made a conscious decision to emulate the design language of high-end watches with the Urbane in order to further differentiate the product from their G Watch and G Watch R products which are aimed at a more “casual” or “active audience.
