Sporty. Durable. Comfortable. Those are just some of the words which can be used to describe Sony’s new SmartWatch 3, an Android Wear device which is just perfect for runners and other athletes. The SmartWatch 3 features a 1.6-inch display which is cradled by two soft-touch velveteen straps making this touch a pleasure to wear. The straps themselves come in a few colors such as white, black, pink, and green.

Unlike other smart watches manufacturers, Sony has opted to include a micro-USB port which is housed in the watch itself. This means that you won’t have to fiddle around with a proprietary adapter in order to get the device charged. Just another added convenience Sony has thought to include. The SmartWatch 3 is also water-resistant up to 5 feet for 30 minutes.

In terms of functionality, SmartWatch 3 is the first Android Wear device to feature built-in GPS. This means that if you use the device for running or cycling, you’ll be able to have much more detailed information available regarding your activities. SmartWatch 3 is also capable of every other function that you’d expect an Android Wear device to be capable of such as voice commands, displaying notifications, and fitness tracking.

SmartWatch 3 features a 1.2 GHZ quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor along with 512MB of RAM. This thing is faster than some smart phones out there and it really shows in use as you zip around the UI. Battery life is really where SmartWatch 3 shines though, with its 420mAh battery you’ll be getting at least 2 days of use out of the device. That’s double what most other smart watches are able to do.

If you’re looking for a feature-packed fitness-centric smart watch that’ll actually be able to go through 48 hours without a charge then Sony’s built a device just for you in the SmartWatch 3.
