The birth of the recent mobile devices that support wireless charging has engendered gadgets and equipment we never thought we needed. Case in point, the Nillkin Wireless Charger Lamp.
As the name suggests, this is a lamp that doubles as a wireless charger. The lamp, which is located on the upper portion of what seems to be the handle to me, uses a LED light with 300 lumens that’s rated to last up to 50,000 hours without changing the brightness of the light it emits.
This means ever after years of using it, the brightness you get is the same as the first time you used it.
The lamp is also not too bright as to dazzle you, but in case you still want to make it dimmer, you may do some adjustments. For reading, however, you may find this light to be a bit dark for your liking.
It is also not meant to replace your room lights as it can only illuminate the immediate area surrounding it.
The wireless charger is located at the base of the lamp and is compatible with all devices that support Qi charging. If your phone doesn’t support it, you may still charge using a USB cable. By the way, iPhone X may be used with it but not with Apple Watch 3.
What’s more, this charger automatically detects metals; hence, you get a warning so you can avoid overheating.
But probably what I like best about it is its design. It is simple and minimalistic, which doesn’t take up a lot of space, yet at the same time, it gives an elegant twist to your otherwise scruffy desk.
One thing we would have liked incorporated into this sleep lamp/charger, though, is the smart technology. Having a sleek lamp that works with Alexa would be the perfect combination of modernity and style.
