Microsoft is aggressively pursuing the low-end smartphone space today with its Lumia 430. Retailing for just over $70, this is definitely the most affordable Lumia smartphone to date and perhaps one of the cheapest smartphones in existence at the moment. For $70 you’ll be getting a 4-inch smartphone with 8GB or storage (microSD slot is available for expandable storage as well), 1GB of RAM, and a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor. Powering the device is a 1500 mAH battery which is typically what you’d expect in a smartphone at this price point and size.
On the software side of things, The Lumia 430 is running the latest version of the Windows Phone software. Its not clear if Microsoft intends to upgrade the device to Windows 10 once its released but we considering that release is just months away we’d expect Microsoft to allow for some sort of upgradability. At $70 this is nearly an impulse buy device for anyone who’s ever been curious about Windows Phone.
