Psst..there’s a silent smartphone arms race going on with the winner being whoever can cram the most cores into a single device’s processor. So far the company which seems to be winning the battle is Elephone with their P9000 and its deca-core CPU. While it seems that the extra-cores on the P9000’s MediaTek Helio X20 processor may be a waste, the company says that its two additional ARM Cortex A72 cores should bring improvement in the performance of the other eight cores.
Other specs include a 5.5” Full HD screen, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, an 8MP front “selfie” camera, a stunning 20.7MP rear camera, a long-lasting 3100mAh battery, an Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed. There’s no information on a North American release of the Elephone P9000 at this time, but if you live in the Asia/Pacific region then you can probably get your hands on one sometime early next year.
