HP has announced the expansion of its display line with two 4k models and its first ever 5k model. The Palo Alto-based company has also announced its first extra-wide curved display which is being touted as a gaming accessory. All the new displays will feature 4 USB 3.0 ports and a mixture of HDMI, Mini DisplayPort and other inputs.
The real gem in the new lineup is the Z27q. This 5K display is a 27-inch, 16:9 beast with over 218ppi pixel density. This is the monitor which HP sees as its future, and due to the company’s heavy business presence, they claim that this display will be the first to define what people can accomplish on a 5K display.
HP is positioning all of the new displays as productivity machines as well as suggesting its usefulness in the field of design as well. One thing is sure, soon everything from photoshop to email and excel is going to look gorgeous.
