Drones aren’t just for flying anymore. Now that the Biki Underwater Drone is here, you’ll be able to experience what it feels like to be on a submarine adventure without ever having to leave the comfort of dry land on the banks of your local river, lake, ocean or other body of water near you.

With a bionic design that mimics the movement of a fish, this drone merges outstanding maneuverability with the capacity to take 4K video. As with just about every other drone, it uses GPS. Unlike other drones, however, it also includes an inertial measurement sensor, and intelligent algorithms to automatically follow pre-set routes and keep its balance in the water. The combination of these various pieces of high technology results in exceptionally stable footage up to depths of up to 196 feet.

So how does the drone “see” in all that ocean? Simple, really. There’s an included infrared positioning sensor that lets it avoid obstacles while the 16MP camera will take breathtaking stills of the great unknown. More below.
