Game maker, Atari, is creating its own console called the Ataribox, and it will be launched on Indiegogo, the crowdfunding site, this fall. Prior to the launch, the makers released more details just so, you know, keep us on the edge of our seats.
Some of these details are the customized processor with Radeon technology from AMD, the Linux OS, and a full PC experience for your TV.
Specific details about the processor is yet to be revealed. The Linux OS, on the other hand gives us more freedom as to what games we can install as long as they’re compatible with OS and HW. And, of course, it will come with pre-loaded Atari games although the list of titles is not out yet.
But what makes this console really stand out from the start is its wooden box, which is literally made of wood.
Ballpark figure for the price is $249-$299, depending on the edition and memory specifications.
