Remember the 3D printing pen that garnered more than $2M in funding during their Kickstarter campaign? Its makers are back, and this time they're bringing us an enhanced model called the 3Doodler Create 3D Pen.

This one is slimmer, lighter, and stronger than its predecessor and has improved drive system as well. This new system allows for smoother and quieter operation. There are also new features such as the light bar and the simplified controls.

See it in action in this video:

The 3Doodler Create 3D Pen comes with 50 plastic strands of 10 different colors. But if you want your concept to more colorful, you have more than 65 hues to choose from.

The kit also includes the power adapter and the quick start guide.

We are aware that this is not the only 3D printing pen in the market, but what sets this aside is the different nozzles that come in various shapes and sizes. Also, the color plastics come in different textures?matte, metallic, sparkle, glossy, glow, and flexy. These then give you a wider range of ideas to 3D draw.

This 3D pen received mixed reviews on Amazon, but here are some that may coax you to get one for your creative self.

This is a great pen and even though I am not much of an artist, I have made some neat things and look forward to playing with it with my grand kids when they visit me. It’s easy to hold and manipulate and the instructions are clear. BUT,THIS PEN IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE TO USE, and replacement filaments are hard to obtain. ?David Hurwitz

As a designer and illustrator, I picked up 3D doodling very quickly, and I was making fantastic models my first day! I can’t say everyone will have the same experience, but if you come up with ideas within the realm of what the 3Doodler can do, amazing results will follow. The thought of drawing in 3D is a bit daunting, but this pen exceeded my expectations. You can draw flat on a surface and easily connect pieces together to make complex 3D models, or you can draw straight up into the air. Don’t expect to be able to draw every which way in thin air because the plastic takes a second or two to harden, but if you’re clever with it, you can figure out ways to achieve whatever you’re imagining. Of course there’s a learning curve, but keep playing with the 3Doodler and you will make some satisfying things 🙂 ?theD
