Wooden Hammock | By Adam Cornish

By Michael Bock on March 29, 2011

From the innovative, green-thinking (as in the environment, not the root-of-all-evil kind of paper) studios of Adam Cornish comes the Wooden Hammock, the previous winner of the ‘Workshopped People’s Choice Award, Sydney’ and current winner of the Herman Miller Asia Pacific competition. Don’t let its organic materials and simple lines fool you, though; the Wooden Hammock is a genuine masterpiece of ergonomic AND green design.

The Wooden Hammock is made from only one sheet of plantation-harvested plywood, which is 100% environmentally friendly and sustainable, and boasts an ultimately ergonomic, spine-supporting row of flexed timber. Those lucky enough to experience the Wooden Hammock, be it in the backyard or under a picturesque oak tree in a grassy plain, will never want to set foot on the ground again. How phenomenal is it that a product like this is as ‘green’ as it is beautiful and O-SO comfy?

Like to meet the creator? The Australian native will be available in April at the Milan Salone Satellite Exhibition in Italy.
