While still just a concept, it’s easy to see Tokyoflash Design Studio’s blood alcohol content-detecting watch becoming assigned equipment to repeat drunk drivers.
The touch LCD-enabled, stainless steel wristwatch would not only tell the time, but also what your BAC level is thanks to the tiny blow hole on its right side. Simply tap the “martini glass” icon on the front, lift the cover and blow. The bars on the screen will climb up to indicate how drunk you are and flash one of three colors (green, yellow or red) as a warning.
There’s no word as to whether the watch would be tied to some other monitoring device by the police, or to a car system to prevent an intoxicated person from getting behind the wheel, but for now it’s simply a concept – and a potentially life-saving one at that.
