Space Invaders Watch | By Romain Jerome

By Harry Marks on July 27, 2011

Romain Jerome is widely known for incorporating unique and often, strange components in its watches. You can buy a watch with volcanic ash, moon dust and even pieces of the Titanic inside. This is the first time, however, that Romain Jerome has included tiny aliens inside one of its pieces.

The Space Invaders Watch comes in two color schemes – multicolored and black-and-white – as part of two 78-piece limited editions (Get it? 1978 is the year Space Invaders came out).

Between the two rubber straps sit a 46mm cambered square fused with bits of the Apollo 11 capsule and four ball-and-socket joints that elicit the feel of a lunar landing module. On the back is a plate made of Moon Silver, making the Space Invaders watch a true work of game-inspired art.
