Technology is constantly closing the gap between DSLRs and point-and-shoots. You no longer need to own a $3,000+ camera to take great photos, and Sony looks to be continuing that trend.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 was specifically built to deliver high-end image quality and handling, while remaining compact. The most impressive upgrade being a 1-inch, 20.2 megapixel CMOS sensor. For comparison, the sensor has an area that’s about four times larger than traditional point-and-shoots – allowing it to take in more light. Additional features include a Carl Zeiss f/1.8 lens with 3.6x zoom, BIONZ image processor (for ISO settings up to 25,600), 10 fps shooting, 3-inch LCD display, built-in pop-up flash, and 1080/60p video.
Top-notch quality in a pocket-friendly package. Yes please.
