Oakley Airwave Goggles

By Aric Mitchell on November 19, 2012

Recon Instruments brings Iron Man technology to the ski slopes with the Oakley Airwave Goggles. What once was a work of fiction in a superhero movie or James Bond film is now a consumer product. GPS and Bluetooth technology allow you the ultimate skiing experience. You can view and record speed, jump analytics, and a range of other stats. You can also use the technology to help track down your friends if you get separated on the slopes.

Using the Oakley Airwave app, the goggles will connect to your phone and allow you to view and control music selections as well as text messages and caller ID. And with a wide selection of onboard sensors, you don’t even need your phone to enjoy most of the benefits. One thing to keep in mind, however: for controlling your music playlist or tracking friends, you’ll need an iPhone 4S or above. (Sorry 3G, 3GS, 4 users. Still, you’ll catch up to the rest of us eventually.)
