As the holiday shopping season nears, the tablet market grows. Barnes & Noble unveiled their own tablet today to compete with the Kindle Fire and to a lesser extent, the Apple iPad. The Nook Tablet is about $50 more than the Fire, but offers more memory and longer battery life. Features include:

  • VividView 7″ touchscreen
  • Dual 1GHz processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 16GB of memory
  • Pre-loaded with Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Pandora
  • Weighs less than a pound
  • 11.5 hours of battery life
  • Custom UI built on top of Android 2.3
  • Over 2.5 million books and magazines, and thousands of apps available

The Nook Tablet is currently up for pre-order and becomes available on November 18, 2011.
