WHY Wally-Hermes Yacht

WHY | Wally-Hermes Yacht

In case the photo didn’t give it away, the WHY (Wally-Hermes Yacht) is the epitome of excess. WHY is a new company from the collective minds of french luxury brand, Hermes, and yacht-maker out of Monaco, Wally. They didn’t want to just create yet another luxury yacht, they wanted to create a moving island that combined the convenience of a boat with the size and sustainability of, well, an island.

Not only is it a behemoth as far size is concerned, but the WHY also has little negative effect on the ocean as it recycles thermal energy along with organic and inorganic wastes. Our favorite feature? When the boat is anchored it creates a calm, flat surface of water behind it that you can use as an olympic-sized pool.

Iguana 29 | The Ground Boat

Iguana 29 | The Ground Boat

Having a hard time deciding on where to handle that next party–on land or sea? With the Iguana 29 Ground Boat, you can have the best of both worlds. At sea, this 10-passenger contraption holds a heavy duty teak floor and can travel at speeds of up to 35 knots. On land, there is a set of caterpillar tracks that allow you to comb the land with the same tenacity. With the all-terrain wheels beneath you, you can explore all the open land has to offer before grounding yourself in the water.

Sure, you’d probably rather live somewhere like the Project Utopia Floating Island, but this makes for one hell of a mini-vacation. No price announced on this one yet, but inStash’s expert prediction is that it won’t come cheap.

Sovereign Superyacht

Sovereign Superyacht

Got more money than a hedge fund manager or oil tycoon? Love the super exclusive world of yachting, and appreciate fine, artsy design? Yes? Then read on, sailor!

The Sovereign Superyacht, a product of Gray Design, is a 2,000 metric ton, unfathomably luxurious, 100ft mega yacht. Its exterior is inspired from modern automotive design, and almost apes some kind of “executive submarine”. Then there’s the optional, custom-built limo that docks neatly below and the glass helipad atop. Inside, three separate levels abound with a crazy number of luxuries, including an ‘infinity’ pool at aft, 10 posh guest suites, full gym (lest one gets flabby at sea, right?), “beach club”, full wet bar, outdoor (and indoor) jacuzzis, an uber-swanky master suite, library, movie theater, and—yes, basically everything except including the kitchen sink!

And the green-friendly crowd will appreciate the built-in solar panels and wind turbine on the mast for powering necessities like lighting and air conditioning. So eat your hearts out, billionaire sea-goers.

EXO | Electric Jet Ski

EXO | Electric Jet Ski

When James Bond goes to the lake for the weekend, this is likely the personal water craft he tools around on. It’s like a tiny aquatic B-2 stealth bomber and gives the distinct impression that little heat-seeking missile launchers could spring out of both sides on command. There’s also something undeniably cool about the way you ride on it: lying prone, head-first, superhero style. You look kind of like you’re trying to defuse its warhead before it destroys an aircraft carrier.

Now, don’t go thinking you’ll be an unstoppable water missile on the EXO. It’s pulled by an electric motor, which means no emissions and very little noise, and tops out at 31mph. So it’s really more of a casual family fun vehicle than the experimental torpedo weapon its sleek black lines suggest. But it’s definitely a wicked-looking family fun vehicle.

(Sorry, couldn’t resist) A joint-collaborative project from the iconic automotive company Abarth, dinghy boat-maker SACS, and Italian-stallion Ferrari—the Abarth Tribute Ferrari comes in a variety of sexy color schemes, including: Rosso Corsa (pictured above), Abarth 695 Tribute, Grigio Titanio, Blu Abu Dhabi, and Giallo Modena. And the stylish little craft wouldn’t be complete without complementary accents of carbon fiber panels, ‘SACS 695′ insignia over Ferrari-red colour, and red stitching.

Caribiana 23 Sea Skiff

Caribiana 23 Sea Skiff

You could get a plain old boat like all those other boaters. But you’re more discerning than that, right? You want something that moves like a speedboat but looks like a luxury yacht. Enter the Caribiana 23-Foot Personal Luxury Sea Skiff.

She’s built like the finest rich-people boats, with a classy-looking teak steering pedastal, teak rub rail with rope inlay, teak floorboards, teak picnic table, and teak aft grate. So, there’s teak. And she’s got all the things you’d expect from a boat: dry storage compartments, anchor locker, compass, fuel tank, and so forth. She’ll do 30 MPH, but consumes less than 3 gallons of fuel per hour.

But the word of the day here is “customize”. Absolutely everything about your skiff is customizable to your personal whims, from the gelcoat color, to the cushions, to the drink holders. Caribiana will field any request that crosses your mind. So if you want even more teak, go ahead and teak your brains out.

Skier Controlled Tow Boat

Skier Controlled Tow Boat

Ever wanted to go water skiing but didn’t have access to a driver or boat; or perhaps you do, but crave exclusive control of the tow boat instead of being subject to the captain’s whim? Look no further than the Skier Controlled Tow Boat—great for activities like water skiing, wake or knee boarding.

The Hammacher Schlemmer unmanned tow boat sports a ‘joy-stick’ where normally there would be just a grab handle for the rider. The lucky operator determines when the watercraft begins and stops, how much it speeds up/slows down, and which direction s/he is going to pursue. It’ll take some time to master. But will it be totally kick-ass after you’ve initially had the experience of being flung into a grassy swamp? Yes!

The unmanned tow boat sports a three-cylinder, jet-propelled 70hp engine and boasts a 40mph top speed. Additionally, it’s fully equipped with a bilge pump for ridding excess water in the boat and is constructed of a very rugged fiberglass/polymer composite. A generous 40-ft tow rope is also standard.

Now that’s what we call A damn fine day at the lake!

Raonhaje Ego | Semi-Submarine Boat

Raonhaje Ego | Semi-Submarine Boat

Raonhaje Ego, the semi-submarine boat, is the latest and greatest craze to hit the water, giving you the best of both worlds when it comes to sea life. The floating upper hull allows you to look out across the horizon for a romantic sunset with the person you love. And if that works to the extent that we think it will, you can both take the stairs to the submerged central hull, where only the fish and algae have to know what happens next.

Easy steering makes maneuvering this thing about as easy as driving an automatic car. With the acrylic windows surrounding you down below, you can experience sea life up close and personal with the safety you just can’t get from scuba or snorkeling. With the warmer months approaching, think about adding the Raonhaje Ego semi-submarine boat to your list of possible watercraft purchases. (At least until they disclose the price!)

2011 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 300X

2011 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 300X

2011 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 300X has arrived to kick sand in the face of all those puny little water-hoppers that came before it. The company is no stranger to building quality jet skis, but this one boasts the title of being the most powerful ever built. Just how can it make such a claim? Well, it starts with 300 horsepower. Add in a deep-V hull that maintains stability while you’re zipping around on the water, and the restraints of past models just fall by the wayside.

The Jet Ski Ultra 300X also houses a 1,498cc inline-four DOHC engine and a 54-gallon fuel tank that will give you several turns out on the water before stopping for a refill. Experiment with riding angles thanks to the five-position adjustable handlebars, and blow away the competition with a supercharger that boosts RPMs. Smart Learning Operation mode gives newbies a chance to acquaint themselves with the power at their own pace. Summer will be here before you know it, kids. Add this one to the Santa list.
