Black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow… Always had a thing for the color combination. It marks the decor of my favorite football team – Go Steelers! – they were the colors used for Rock-O’s trunks in Rocky II and Rocky Balboa, two of the best movies ever – and they make for a striking combination on the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series, which was recently unveiled in the City of Angels by the world-famous car company. Not sure if this’ll be available in other colors, but that doesn’t really matter as much as the 8,000 RPM of Read More
Modernity and classic beauty converge in the new 2013 SRT Viper. This edition of the Viper comes with several changes which enhance the overall driving experience. With a more aggressive racecar look, the Viper maintains the classic ‘gill’ shape as a primary feature on the side. The evolved viper form also features a longer roofline tapering towards the rear with broader shoulders on the fenders. A new V-10 engine producing 640hp awaits your every command. A 12.5 percent reduction in the shift throws and a 3.55 to 1 ratio on the final drive gear have greatly improved the performance. Better Read More
Inspired by the 2012 Los Angeles Design Challenge search for the “Highway Patrol Vehicle 2025,” Mercedes Benz has released the Vision Ener-G-Force concept sport utility patrol vehicle. China and America working together for a cost effective solution to energy efficiency? What is this world coming to? Hopefully, a very nice thing in the Aptera Electric Car. And not just because of the international spirit of cooperation either. How does 200 miles per gallon sound? It would at least make it more difficult for major unnamed corporations to gouge you at the pump! The Aptera 2e resembles a small aircraft (minus the wings) and reminds us of something Marty McFly might have encountered in Back to the Future Part 2. Chinese corporation Jonway Group, real estate guy Rick Read More
No, no… don’t worry. This time around, the joke is being reversed. Rather than getting a toy-sized version of your favorite car, you’ll be getting a real version of your favorite toy. The Camaro Hot Wheels Edition will tout a Kinetic Blue paint job, ground effects, front splitter, ZL1 front upper grille and ZL1 rear spoiler, black 21-inch wheels with redline accents, a matte hood stripe, fender flame graphics, and Hot Wheels logos throughout. Limited numbers available in 2013, in both coupe and convertible.
Jaguar has recently revealed their newest project: a two-seater, convertible sports car. The 2013 Jaguar F-Type features a lightweight aluminium chassis, and will be available in three variants: F-Type, F-Type S and F-Type V8 S. The base model packs a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine pushing 340 horsepower mated to an eight-speed ZF paddleshift automatic. If you prefer to go big or go home, the top-end F-Type V8 S will get you a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 with 495 horsepower, good for a 0-60 run in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 182 mph. Of course, at $92,000… going big has its price.
The replacement of the McLaren F1 is near, and from everything we’re hearing, it won’t disappoint. The McLaren P1 is being called a “design study,” but what you see here is supposedly going to be pretty close to what you can expect going on sale sometime within the next 12 months. We don’t have any official specs, other than McLaren’s official statement, promising to be ”the best driver’s car in the world on road and track.” But we do, of course, have rumors… claiming the P1 will feature a 3.8-liter V8 producing 803 horsepower matched to a 160 horsepower KERS system.
