Sony Google TV

Sony Internet TV

Sony Internet TV has those of us who are a bit more progressive-minded bathing in the tears of our cable companies. That’s right, inStashers, you are one step closer to cutting those cable costs with this contraption from Sony and Google, who have teamed together for an easy-to-use TV experience. What’s really cool about it is that you can run searches as easily as you would online with a custom QWERTY keypad remote control–very cool.

The Sony Internet TV ranges from 24-to-46 inches in size making it possible to ditch the laptop for small screen entertainment the way it was intended. Other sizes include 32 and 40 inches. What sets this apart from the competition for us is the built-in Wi-Fi, which allows you to remove the television from the box and begin enjoying the programming selections immediately. Nothing more to purchase or acquire so long as you’ve got access to wireless Internet.

Equipped with ribbon-based tweeters and digital signal processing technologies, Libratone claims that unlike other wireless speakers, sound quality is not sacrificed.

The features come wrapped up into a stylish Scandinavian design that “makes it blend in and stand out at the same time.” Available in four colors: blood orange, vanilla beige, slate grey, and blueberry black. Perfection for the bedroom or the patio.

Marmot CWM MemBrain

Marmot CWM MemBrain (Sleeping Bag)

It’s never too early to plan for an ice age, and with Marmot’s CWM MemBrain, it’s never been easier. You may even find yourself selfishly hoping for the end of the world, just so you can brag about how cozy it is being wrapped up in this extreme sleeping bag.

The CMW MemBrain is the warmest sleeping bag that Marmot carries, and the warmest in the world for all we know. We’re talkin’ 800+ fill goose down with a shell of MemBrain waterproof, breathable fabric. Wondering how warm the warmest sleeping bag is? You’ll be able to sleep comfortably through temperatures down to -40°F. Yeah, the Alps ain’t got nothin’ on you.

And if you were expecting such a bag to require a tow truck, you’d be wrong. Weighing in at 4 lbs 8 oz, the CWM MemBrain is light as… well, a lot of feathers.

Canon Powershot G12

Canon Powershot G12

I love hybrids – not the hippy-dippy gas/electric cars, I mean devices that meld the best of two worlds into one amazing package. Canon has blended the power of their beloved DSLRs and the portability of their Powershot line of point-and-shoots into the new Powershot G12.

The G12 is a 10-megapixel camera with full manual options for the ultimate control when you want to feel like a pro at your kid’s piano recital. It also features a 2.8-inch adjustable LCD screen, 720p HD video recording capabilities, a 5x optical zoom lens with image stabilization, HDR mode, a hotshoe, RAW + JPEG capability and most importantly, the DIGIC 4 image processor for those tricky low-light situations.

Burglar Blaster

Burglar Blaster

Sure, you could just install a burglar alarm in your home, but no robber is going to be afraid of some incessant beeping. He’s going to grab what he wants and bolt out of there before the cops ever show up.

If you want to stop a would-be burglar dead in his tracks (and make him cry like a six year-old girl), you might want to install a Burglar Blaster. The Burglar Blaster is a highly durable, cast aluminum alloy case with a built-in passive infrared detection system. After a certain amount of time, the Blaster will fill the area with pepper spray, incapacitating the intruder and preventing him from making off with your belongings.

The device can be painted to blend in with any surrounding and runs for up to four years on a set of “C” batteries.

Nikon D3100

Nikon D3100

D90, we hardly knew ye. The Nikon D3100 comes along and trumps you in several ways, featuring 14.2 megapixels of still-photo shooting glory with the ISO topping out at 12,800. Don’t freak out if you’re unsure about what any of that means. There is a Nikon D3100 for dummies tutorial on board that will make sure you’re a pro, whether cameras are your life, or you are just finally learning how to use a 4 megapixel digital camera.

Other features of the Nikon D3100 include 1080p H.264 digital recording, so that not only can you shoot photos of your next big family trip, but you can also capture it all on video that looks better than any pre-2000 feature film. Of course, there is no accounting for cinematography skills, but it at least gives you the power of becoming the next armchair Scorsese.

John Varvatos Zip Collar Jacket

John Varvatos Zip Collar Jacket

The John Varvatos Zip Collar Jacket is a unique combination of water protection, comfort and fashion, all rolled into a nice package with a pop-out hood that hides while you’re not wearing it, and guards you from the elements when Mother Nature decides to open a can of ass-beat on you. Of course, you’ve got to ask yourself whether a retail price of $698 is actually worth avoiding a few raindrops.

Personally, I’ve never minded getting wet that much, but with its 100% cotton interiors, this does make for a tempting little number when the cooler weather hits, or you simply want to deploy the hood and stand outside your ex-girlfriend’s house to put a good scare in her. Just kidding. It does sort of look menacingly fashionable, though, don’t you think?

Ordro HDV-D350S Camcorder

Ordro HDV-D350S Camcorder

Clocking in at 15 lumens and boasting the fact that it’s the first ever HD camcorder with a built-in removeable projector, the Ordro HDV-D350S Camcorder is attempting to change the way you shoot and display home movies. Forget about all of those crinkly crackly 8-millimeters from yesteryear. This is the 21st Century, and it’s time life was shot in HD. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean the Ordro is for you, but it appears to be a pretty solid device, and it delivers on the bonus features.

The Ordro HDV-D350S Camcorder sports a 10x optical zoom, a 3-inch touch screen LCD, and an SD/SDHC card slot for storage purposes. Family vacations, sporting events, Junior’s school play, or just annoying your wife or girlfriend around the house by filming every little thing she does, just got a whole lot easier.

Mac Mini

Mac Mini

Apple should have called the new 1.4″ Mac Mini the “Apple TV 2″, because they definitely had home entertainment in mind when they redesigned their popular sub-$1000 desktop.

The new Mini is encased in a unibody aluminum enclosure (like the back of the iPad) and features a slew of outputs on the back, including:

  • Ethernet
  • Firewire
  • HDMI
  • Mini DisplayPort
  • 4 USB 2.0 ports
  • SD card reader

All of these outputs mean you can hook the Mini up to any HDTV or HD computer monitor and get incredible audio and video via streaming services or local content. The new Mac Mini also features easily upgradable RAM up to 8GB via a slide-out bottom panel, a 2.4 or 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 500GB of internal memory and a NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor.

Unfortunately, along with these significant upgrades came a price bump of $100, so now the Mac Mini costs $699 as opposed to $599, but considering what you’re getting, it’s still a steal.

It’s free, and we’ll keep you up-to-date with all of the cool stuff we find! Cars, clothes, video games, movies, gadgets, you name it!
