digital 3d camcorder

Sony DEV-3 Digital 3D Camcorder

Yes, we know we’ve brought you the Sony DEV-5 Digital Binoculars before, and that that previous effort came with a 20x optical zoom lens, but one thing it didn’t have was the three dimensional capabilities. Well, today we correct that omission with the Sony DEV-3 Digital 3D Camcorder that comes with a 10X zoom and resolution of full HD, 1920 x 1080, while preserving the 3D without deterioration.

Additionally, if you purchase from Amazon, you can get it with an attractive carrying case, a 32GB SDHC, a mini-HDMI cable, and accessory kit. You’ll also get the Wasabi NP-FV100 Battery to ensure DEV-3 is powered up and ready to go whenever you need it. And to think, all we used to have was a crappy little thing that shot VHS quality. You kids don’t know how good you’ve got it.

novo camera

Novo Camera

There’s a lot about the Novo Camera that we don’t understand, but that’s mainly because we’re not working, professional cinematographers. What we do get about it is this: You can use the onboard Wi-Fi for wireless camera control. You can get in to some really tight places for some amazing shots due to its micro-size. And you can enjoy a full 4k frame rate for an image that looks positively amazing.

It’s no wonder the Novo Camera isn’t marketed to people like us, who still have some trouble figuring out our 7 megapixel digital cameras. But for you guys who actually know what the heck you’re doing, there may not be a better option. One note: the $885 price tag you see is to rent for a week. Otherwise, costs are $295 per day. (Like we said, you really need to know what you’re doing before you pick this one up.)

steadywheel

The SteadyWheel Camera Stabilizer

Always wanted to be a filmmaker but get a bad case of the jitters whenever the camera is in your hands? Are you tired of your family trying to watch your vacation videos only to inquire about whether you’ve got Parkinson’s? If so, then you need the SteadyWheel Camera Stabilizer, which will ensure that you never get a case of the jitters again. (Or that, if you do, your stuff will at least turn out better than Cloverfield and, believe us, that’s a good thing.)

With this creation from WildIron, you simply mount the digital camera or camcorder into the opening and use the steering wheel-like design to shoot a video or picture that’ll make you look like a true pro.

soloshot

Soloshot

The Soloshot is a new digital recording aid that is just perfect for the athlete who wants to improve his form or for those of us who need a reality check and a nice slice of humble pie after we come back from our run thinking we looked good out there. The Soloshot can be connected to the base of any camera or camcorder on a tripod. A waterproof transmitter is then worn on the arm and feeds back to the device, which enables tracking for up to 2,000 feet.

And in case you think your moves like Jagger are too much for it, this thing can maintain accuracy for objects moving up to 140 miles per hour, which means it is more than capable of tracing your movements, Slick.

sphericam

Sphericam

We can think of tons of great uses for the Sphericam, a recent Kickstarter project that absolutely killed on its funding goals, earning about 3.5 times its $10,000 target. The brainchild of Czech Republic native-Chicago transplant Jeffrey Martin, this creation allows you to shoot 360 degrees, all at the same time while using the LCD panel to check playback.

The Sphericam does what it does thanks to four fisheye lenses, each with a 170-degree viewing field. These are mounted inside a sphere, which sits atop the 4.3″ monitor. The moment you turn this thing on, it starts recording and has a maximum of 3 hours recording time before it needs another charge (recording capacity of up to 17 hours on a 32GB SD card). Now, which one of you are going to use this to shoot the first ever 360-degree movie?

gizmon-lens-series2

Gizmon Lens Series

Gizmon Lens Series features a detachable clip and conversion lens that allows you to do a lot of cool stuff with your iPhone 4/4S, iPad 2/new iPad, and GIZMON iCA camera. It has center focus, fisheye, cross-screen, CPL, and mirage filters that ultimately place you in full control of the final product. What does that mean for you?

It means you can take sharp, clear, and colorful pictures of the world around you. It means that you can turn your dog into a three-headed dog. It means that you can single out objects for emphasis within the image itself while de-emphasizing the rest. It’s like your own strap-on Instagram that won’t try to make money off of your pictures.

hero3

GoPro HERO3: Black Edition

GoPro are one of the industry leaders when it comes to in-action cameras and their HERO3: Black Edition model is no exception.

The Black Edition is the top model in the HERO3 range and its promo video will have you realizing just how boring your life is. Either that or give you a huge dose of inspiration and motivation!

At a mere 2.6 ounces (25% lighter and 30% smaller than previous models) it’s fit to accompany you during any extreme sports session or adventurous activity and capture all of the action in glorious High Definition. It’s wearable and easy to mount on your gear so you’ll have no trouble bringing it along for the ride.

The device is waterproof to 60meters (197’) and the versatile camera is capable of capturing ultra-wide 1440p 48 fps, 1080p 60 fps, and 720p 120 fps video and 12MP photos at a rate of 30 photos per second.

Best of all, the Black Edition is WiFi enabled with a remote control that has a reach of 600’ or, alternately, you can control the device from your smartphone or tablet with the GoPro app.

APEX

Apex HD+

The Apex HD+ follows in the tradition of the Oakley Airwave Goggles in that it is for the multi-tasking skier who can do a lot more on the slopes than simply ski. While the Oakley’s were more about controlling music selection, mapping positions, and keeping track of your buddies, the HD+ is purely a digital camera, and a damn fancy one at that. Instead of trying to snap photos with your poles tucked in to your armpits, oblivious of the fast-approaching cliff, you can use this to take a true POV picture of everything you see.

The Apex HD+ captures full 12 megapixel imagery from HD video, giving perspective shots that would have broken necks just five years ago. Easy to see how the technology could also be useful to law enforcement personnel and the military as well (like they’re not already on it).

Blackmagic cinema cmra

Blackmagic Cinema Camera

While optic technology on camera phones has advanced tenfold, you still can’t go about filming with an iPhone and expect respect as a ‘serious photographer’. For that, you’ll have to look to the likes of the Blackmagic Cinema Camera.

Although the features and benefits list on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera is impossibly long – possibly rivaling that of the freakin’ Space Shuttle’s manual or the Internal Revenue Code – certain things about this compact, semi-pro/pro (depending on whom you ask) camera stand out to us. First, its 2.5K image sensor with 13 dynamic range (DR) stops allows the operator to easily manipulate high quality stills from digital video. Second, the built-in SSD recorder lets the photographer (or cinematographer) capture video in RAW 12-bit, Avid DNxHD, and/or ProRes (Apple) formats. Afterwards, plug the SSD right into a computer and edit shots right from the disk drive. Third, the metadata entry function (essentially making the insertion of metadata [e.g. tags, time codes, shot nos., etc.] onto slides a breeze once the user acclimates to it) is something you just won’t find on any old DSLR.

Comes in two flavors: EF, for flexibility of lens swapping among Cannon EF and Zeiss ZE series, and MFT, for four-thirds, manual lenses, and lens adapters. Oh, and either camera comes with Davinci Resolve software, which is basically any photographers wet dream in terms of color manipulation.

drift ghost

Drift HD Ghost

If you’re an extreme sports junkie determined to capture your feats on film, things just got a whole lot easier.

The Drift HD Ghost promises an intuitive user experience for capturing stunning footage and photography in-action and, unlike other point of view cameras that require aftermarket accessories to truly get what you’re after, includes everything you need right out the box.

A particularly cool feature is the industry-first two-way LED remote control that allows you to control the camera from up to 10 meters away. You can switch between taking still photos and motion footage on the fly and also stop and start recording from a distance – great for saving memory and battery life.

The integrated 2-inch LCD screen consists of Gorilla Glass®, which ensures it remains scratch-free through even the harshest terrain, and the whole device is waterproof.

The camera can also sync wirelessly with your smart phone via WiFi, meaning you can transfer the days footage over in a breeze.

Like we said, it’s everything you’ll need.

It’s free, and we’ll keep you up-to-date with all of the cool stuff we find! Cars, clothes, video games, movies, gadgets, you name it!
