Have you ever dreamed about making your own Mario game? Soon you’ll be able to with Mario Maker, a game which actually allows you to design your own Super Mario Brothers levels. Originally designed as a developer tool for Nintendo’s own in-house Mario development team, Mario Maker puts you in the game design armchair, allowing you a myriad amount of options so you can create your own 8-bit or modern game worlds.
Mario Maker will also feature more than 100 pre-built levels on the disk, far more than the original Super Mario Bros. for NES, which packed only 32 levels. What’s more, users will also be able to import their favorite Amiibo into the game which will then serve as “costumes” for our intrepid hero-plumber. That’s right, Mario can actually transform into 8-bit versions of other Nintendo characters such as Kirby and even the Wii Fit Trainer. Super Mario Maker will be available for the WiiU on Sept. 11th.
