The Bhut Jolokia, aka “Ghost Pepper”, has been certified by Guiness as the hottest chili pepper on Earth–almost double the heat of its nearest competitor, the Red Savina Habanero. You could melt your face just by looking at it. And it has a way of sneaking up on you, so eating some goes kind of like: “That’s not so bad, I don’t see what all the fuss is… oh there it is… oh boy… oh GOD… WATER! WATER!
