Fleonalu Flying Wave

By Aric Mitchell on February 11, 2013

Getting tired of the same old instrument options? Looking for something in the strings family that’s a little “off the beaten path”? Then it sounds like you’re in the mood for the Flying Wave! The actual name is Fleonalu, but “flying wave” is the translation, and it’s also somewhat descriptive of the instrument’s actual design.

As far as sound goes, it really just depends on which option you prefer – soprano or tenor – but either way, it takes the best parts of the violin and the ukelele and combines it into one classic sound for a new age. Materials are comprised of mahogany, black walnut and zebra wood. And if you’re such a music lover that you can actually write the stuff, then buying in now will allow you to be one of the early songwriting pioneers for songs geared toward this instrument. Play on, music lovers!
