Black Diamond Magnetron Carabiner

By Jason Bacchetta on July 10, 2012

Rather than using twistlocks or screwlocks, why not a magnetic locking system?

The new Black Diamond Magnetron Carabiners use a steel insert in the carabiner nose to keep two independent arms securely locked, each of which must be individually depressed before the gate can be opened. And once the gate is open, opposing magnetic fields repel the arms for convenient operation.

The locking mechanism is also symmetrical in design, making it easy to operate one-handed with either hand.
