With a triple maturation process that includes Bourbon, Sherry, and European oak Oloroso Sherry casks, the Benromach Speyside is a single malt scotch whisky, aged 10 years, but with a taste that comes in at around twice that. And in the last three this offering has won eight major awards. Part of the draw of this particular product line is that richness that comes from the Sherry influence along with a distinctive blend of fruit, oak, chocolate, and cinnamon.
Benromach comes in an attractive cylinder celebrating the aging process and the golden balance of the fluid itself. Looks like it would blend in nicely with a certain type of lighted tree that most of us throw up in our houses around this time of year. But with 43 percent strength, you may want to keep this one out of the reach of kids.
