It’s been three years since the iMac got any love in the redesign department. In a few weeks, that hiatus will come to an end.
The Apple iMac 2012 is just 5mm thick at its edge with up to 40 percent less volume than the previous generation. It’ll sport an upgraded Intel Ivy Bridge processor, NVIDIA GeForce 600-era graphics, a brand new display that’s 75% less reflective, up to 32GB of RAM, and a variety of storage options including a “Fusion Drive” that combines 128GB of flash memory with a 1TB or 3TB hard drive (for the best of both speed and size).
Available in the same 21.5-inch or 27-inch models.
Unfortunately, Retina displays weren’t included this time. That’ll likely be the bait that tempts you to upgrade yet again next year.
