There is hope for Detroit to regain the muscle car status which they once held so strongly. It is the 2012 Camaro ZL1. Though many will argue that this is just a Cadillac CTS-V put onto a Camaro body, GM has reworked the Camaro platform to go above and beyond that benchmark. With a 6.2 liter v8 pushing out over 550 horsepower, this car will tear up the road as the ZL1’s of the past did. Not to mention the fact that it will do 0-60 in just a little over 4 seconds!
If these specs were not enough, GM is throwing in all sorts of goodies to increase performance and changing the style with a wider body kit and a new styled interior. Though this model will likely find its way on to a showroom floor near you in early 2012, be ready to sign on the dotted line, because with looks and performance like this they will not be sitting on the floor. Also be prepared to pay an extra sin tax because this baby is a gas-guzzler.
