Muscle car fanboys: your Special Edition Camaro has arrived.
Behold the 2012 Chevy Camaro 45th Anniversary Edition—a product 45 years in making, minus the sportscar’s 2002-2009 production hiatus. Expected to be available by mid-summer of 2011, the 2012 Camaro 45th A/Edition will come in two flavors: 2LT and 2SS. Fuel- and/or budget-conscious buyers will likely opt for the V6-equipped 2LT (estimated to receive 30mpg!); those with an insatiable lust for power will make a B-line for the 2SS—locked & loaded in true pony-car style with a 6.2L V8 under the hood.
Chevy certainly didn’t forget that beauty is just as important as muscle. The Camaro 45th is decked out in a ‘Carbon Flash’ metallic paint with a super sporty red & silver rally strip running down the middle. Additionally, it’ll boast a standard spoiler in the rear, sporty 20″ chrome wheels, and HID (High-Intensity Discharge) headlights.
And lest anyone should forgo noticing that this is, in fact, a ‘special edition’ Camaro—there are strategically placed 45th Anniversary badges on the steering wheel, headrests, tail, and both sides of the exterior.
