At 27 miles per gallon, the 2011 Porsche Cayman R is a surprisingly fuel efficient beast for something that can go 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. With 330 horsepower at 7,400 RPMs, this premium beauty can really gun it.
Boasting a top track speed of 175 mph, it may not be the fastest car in the world, but it will win drag races 9 times out of 10. Of course, the drawbacks, if you want to call them that, are no cupholders, no radio, and no air conditioning. As the website states, the Cayman R “reflects the radical rejection of the pursuit of comfort.”
For some, that’s a turn-on. Some of us, however, prefer comfort, but we still get where the idea is coming from. There’s too much pampering going on in this world. It’s easy to lose sight of original purpose when you’re focusing on the bells and whistles. Cayman R is a back-to-basics auto, and you’ve got to respect the hell out of it for being bold enough to admit it.
